Querying on a decentralized Web - Ruben Verborgh - GraphQL Day 2018

Excellent short talk (12 mins) by Ruben Verborgh which explains how decentralised web apps will need to work, and the key differences between SPARQL and GraphQL

This is an excellent talk that does a great job selling what’s so special about the semantic web. It was good to watch it after reading the rather negative, but still informative, Hacker News thread about the semantic web, where many of the posters were skeptical or claimed that the semantic web is “dead”. I only saw one post even mention Solid and inrupt’s work, and I arrived at the thread too late to offer my own two cents.
